The family pool is often the centrepiece of the home. It becomes the place people gather during parties and events, and it’s a symbol of relaxation and comfort, health and exercise. As such, it’s something that you want to highlight as a key feature of the house.
For this luxury home at Desmond street, the client wanted the pool to be the focus of the entire building. Protected from view from the outside by the building itself, it was possible to be creative and have a full glass environment where each room would open up to a bright, light, view of the pool.
Sliding glass doors open up to the pool from each section of the home, while on the second floor large ceiling-to-floor glass panels allow for a bright, airy and full view of the pool from every angle. The result is a bright home with few walls blocking the natural light into the home.
Within the home itself glass is a recurring theme, too, with many rooms separated by glass walls rather than more traditional plaster. The effect that this has on the living spaces is profound, with the building offering an overwhelming sense of space and openness. Light flows through this home with freedom, creating a relaxed, natural, and stress-free environment for the residents.
To create this effect, the Innovative Aluminium & Glass worked closely with the residents and building designers on what was a very technically challenging task. It’s not easy to replace so many walls with custom glass solutions, but our expertise in working with glass allowed us to deliver the designs on brief and budget, and helped the owners create their dream home.
